For National Pharmacy Technician Day, we’re shining a spotlight on Janelle Alber, one of our talented Outcomes Rx30 support representatives who also continues to serve as a pharmacy technician in her community.

Her journey into pharmacy began by following in her sister’s footsteps, and what started as a “foot in the door” opportunity quickly turned into a career path she’s proud to be on today. Balancing both roles — supporting customers and working directly in the pharmacy — gives her a unique perspective. “It keeps me updated and understanding both sides. It allows me to put both jobs’ knowledge to use in both fields,” she says.
That dual experience means she not only relates to the challenges pharmacists and techs face, but she’s also able to explain solutions in a way that connects. One moment that stands out for her was helping teammates better understand pharmacy fields like DAW — bridging the gap between technical software and real-world pharmacy workflow.
Her patient-care moments are just as meaningful. She recalls searching tirelessly for a missing prescription that was critical for a patient’s health: “The relief on the patient’s face that they would not have to worry about missing a dose was unforgettable.”
Outside of work, Janelle spends her free time with her daughter, enjoying board games, movie nights, and mommy-daughter dinner dates. Through it all, her guiding value remains simple but powerful: “Always be kind. You never know what someone else is going through.”
