Answering the Call: A Journey in Pharmacy and Purpose

From an early age, I knew I wanted a career in healthcare, one that would not only allow me to make a meaningful impact on a broad scale but also support the life I envisioned as a mother. I’ve always loved solving puzzles, and in many ways, pharmacy felt like the perfect fit; where science, strategy, and service come together.

While studying at Drake University, I had the opportunity to intern at the state capitol, where I was first introduced to healthcare policy and reform. That experience opened the door to a fellowship with a pharmaceutical manufacturer on diabetes and migraine medications. Working on the regulatory team, my goal was to help bring products to market, collaborating with governing bodies and other players in the healthcare space. That is when I realized: pharmacy was calling me, but not in the traditional sense.

Unlike the community and hospital roles many of my peers pursued, my path in pharmacy has focused on shaping healthcare from behind the scenes through policy, innovation, and regulatory strategy. That journey eventually led me to Outcomes, where technology and service intersect, connecting health plans, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and both community and chain pharmacies.

Over the years, my roles have evolved, but one thing has remained constant: a drive to create meaningful change.

As a mother of three young children, two girls and a boy, all under the age of six, I’m not only living out my passion but also showing my kids what it means to dream big, make a difference, and still be their biggest cheerleader.

To me, that is the greatest impact of all.
